Kung Fury 2 - 80's action has been on the collective unconscious since 2019....

some users like @danno and @kimono have had conversational glimpses of some of the stuff i wanted to do with a certain franchise...

in 2010 and 2020 synthwave kind of took off and desires for some 80's action was in the hearts of a lot of people -
in regards to a certain game i have been editing , actually tried to hire some people to see if some live action cut-scenes could be implemented, needless to say that was something of a fools hope and way beyond me economics, but the video in this post has a lot of the cheezy elements and aesthetics that i was going for.....

It's a beautiful Kung Fury universe, based on a beautiful fantasy era of the 80s and 90s, filled with all kinds of crime/martial arts films, as well as an emerging wave of arcade video games.
I'd love to see this arcade atmosphere return one day, and perhaps modernize it.

I hope you can transcribe, even in a modest way, the universe you are looking for and share it, if you wish, with as many people as possible.
Regarding Kung Fury, I have already tried to transcribe it from different models in the Street of Rage style, maybe I can make it a character in another game and with an alternative palette of colors.

I can also try the other characters for fun.

its incredibly weird that i did not see the first kung fury short movie, i used to frequent sites like neatorama , cracked 1o9 at least 3 times a week - and somehow missed the blasted thing -
seriously thought that part of the joke in kung fury 2 is that there was never a kung fury 1
another time i missed something this "huge" was the whole Kony 2012 "viral" campaign...

anyway, it is so freakish that some of the stuff i had visualized is actually kind of present on those 2 short movies -
there really is some kind of collective unconscious where ideas and imagery are tapped ...
fortunately there is other stuff left that its not featured on the movies so far, so at least hopefully if i ever share them people cant call it a copy....

taking a good look at your sprites and they make the official game sprites pale in comparison...

the game is not that good compared to the kung fury 2 trailer...
i see a tremendous lack of enemy variety.... but it does seem like a stepping stone of some games we got later after 2023
