Hello everybody! I would like to direct your attention to the fact that we (Senile Team) have announced a new game today, titled Intrepid Izzy.

Intrepid Izzy is a non-linear action adventure platformer (or a "metroidvania" if you will) with beat 'em up and RPG elements. It is developed on PC with HD graphics, but there will also be a Dreamcast version.

More information can be found in the news post on Senile Team's website and on the Intrepid Izzy website.

I hope you like it!

Thanks! Gameplay videos will soon be recorded of course! There is no dynamic zoom at this time. Perhaps at some point I will add it.

Looks fantastic, no real surprise there. Izzy herself reminds me a bit of Kim Possible. Be sure to let us know when you have some more!

I crossed the infor of this game just few hours befor you post it.
And I thinked, good! Something new from Senile.
Wish you good luck guys.
Would be good to give it a try on Dreamcast! :)

WOW!!! A 'Metroidvania" type of game!! I've been playing a lot of the 2D Castlevania games that came out after Symphony of The Night lately, LOVE them. Can't wait to play this one!

Haha, the "Izzy" reference triggered a memory of this weird 1996 marketing tie-ie:

I have just recorded some gifs of the game in action. They are quite heavy, so I hope everyone has good bandwidth!  ;)

Wow! Nice!
How I would like some game engine for platform games...
I'm really interested in making some, but I don't know some good engine that allows all gameplay elements of popular plateforming game like hanging on platform and all...
anyway, good luck.

Personally, I am moving to Game Maker. It allows this and other features.

Yes I heard of it before, I initially have intention to make it with Openbor. (A side project game I have in mind)
But I will move to Game Maker as well I think.

Hi guys!

I posted some info about one of Intrepid Izzy's features on the Senile Team dev log. It's about the fact that one can collect various costumes in the game, each of which grants a different set of special abilities. For the full story, read the dev log post. :)

Here are some example costumes. The vampire costume allows Izzy to change into a bat.

Looks fantastic.  I have to say, watching the first video, I was kind of disappointed at how limited Izzy seemed to be in her animations and repertoire. Now it makes a lot more sense why. Like you said - it should be fun playing dress up!  ;D

I like the costume idea!
I hope we will have a diversity of costumes, not only skin-tight type costume variation.

Well, also it was only a very short clip, and the game is of course still in development. But I don't think the word "limited" applies here - between all costumes, she's got about 1300 frames of animation already, and there are still more to come!  ;D

Sorry, I should have clarified better - by limited I didn't mean animation quality - I'm not surprised at all to learn she has that many frames. I was talking more about the quantity. At first it looked like a standard ho-hum platformer with superlative artwork but same old mechanics. One attack move, one jump, etc.

Obviously that goes right out the window with your costume system. That absolutely changes everything and I can't wait to see more. Also thrilled to know it's not a DC exclusive. I'll be first in line to purchase a copy when you release!
