Dream: Same OB build to open all games!

Is that possible?
Certain mods requires a specific version of OB to work, cose of changes of commands and structures.

But man, lets compile all together in one build, old codes, script, commands, and of course the new updates also.

My s&l 3 dont work right with allowselect and weapons, jennifer also has some issues with the some new versions after 2009.

I know we need to move forward to learn the new upgrades, commands and scripts, but a Build that run ALL mods would be a dream. I have more than 170 mods here, and have trouble to run on the new version...

That new build the things got worse lmao...

Anyway, just its just something i always wanted to say!

Its impossible to do.  In fact, its possible, but doesn't worth the trouble.

But man, lets compile all together in one build, old codes, script, commands, and of course the new updates also.
...and ending a bloated up engine, just to be able to run pre-historic modules? I don't think so.

And some old modules was made with passion also, we can't just ignore those moders that tried their best to make their games.

And some are way better than we have today...

I can name tons of engine that can run old and new games/apps...

Each engine is a different animal. Mugen, for example, can run old content in newer versions, but some have issues and some very old content won't even run. It's up to the authors to update it.

As in Mugen - and without wanting to sound rude - there are so very old content that people shouldn't even bother to run, since they are prehistoric and have a lot of issues (in graphics, sounds and codes) and makes the engine looks bad. I remember some old content done for the original BOR which looks AWFUL bad - and it had made me hate BOR back in that era, because all content were almost the same and made the engine look even worse.

And some old modules was made with passion also, we can't just ignore those moders that tried their best to make their games.
Just use the build they were meant to work and its done :)
Also, if the author made the module with passion, he would update it to work in never builds, so your point doesn't makes much sense.

And some are way better than we have today...
...as we have way better modules now. I don't get your point.

It's better to update the mods for the most current version of OBoR than it is to do that. Really I wouldn't mind going through quite a few mods and updating some things even outside of compatibility.

Either way I don't see this happening, as O Ilusionista pointed out is not worth the trouble.

This. Take his "s&l 3" as an example - it was done before 2009. If he wants his mod to run perfectly in current build, he needs to update it. Or use the build it was meant for.

Either way I don't see this happening
Neither I. I doubt the devs will bloat the engine just to support some very old mods. They are, in fact, making the opposite: cutting the support to some old ports and moving forward.

I agree. Hatchet Ninjaz is the one in most need of an overhaul, but Contra: Locked N' Loaded, Shiva and Lisa (as one big game), Night Slashers X, etc. deserve retoolings.

You cant even find old builds to download.

Well, ok then!

Make your games and enjoy the moment, because in some years you'll have trouble to play it.

Seens fair!

Some people don't know how to use the engine anymore.

Ok guys, if you don't want a complete software that run all mods, ok, but i would love.

End of story.
