can't add or remove characters.

related to my previous post, it seems that i can't add or remove characters from any game (at least i don't know how). YES any character i (attempt to) add IS in the models.txt file, AS LOAD, AS PLAYER TYPE. i even tried removing all characters from the models.txt file, and they all still retain their positions in the roster, making me wonder if no changes can be made. i'm definitely not a very sharp tool on the topic of openbor, so could someone please give me some helpful advice here?

Make sure the pak file is not the real game just a blank txt file renamed to bor.pak and no other pak files are in the paks folder.

thank you for your response sir, but i just now tried it a few times, and the game remains as is. same characters, even tho i tried removing/adding some of them. by "blank txt file" do you mean open it with notepad and delete everything in it?🤔

Move the data folder into the main directory with the log folder, screenshots folder, saves folder etc and instead of deleting lines from the models.txt put a # at the beginning of the line so..

Load  ninja  data/chars/ninja/shin.txt

Becomes

#Load  ninja  data/chars/ninja/shin.txt

Also that bor.pak might be the entire game so do like Malik said

All right sir, we're getting somewhere. it kinda worked, there was definitely a shortage of characters, BUT it's shutting down during the loading screen after a long wait, but when i put the data folder back in paks, it loads quickly.

Do you have a data folder and a pak in the paks folder? That could be the conflict

yes sir, i did. in my previous comment, i explain what happens when i remove the paks folder.

There's too many variables as to what the problem could be, I suggest you start again fresh but this time put the data folder in the main directory then remove the bor.pak from the Pak folder then create a new blank bor.pak in Pak folder, don't use any of the files you've been playing with, just start a whole new process

i found the problem there.  when i remove my created character from models, it loads slowly, but fully. it's probably because she's not completed as far as hitboxes and all. maybe...
