Hi guys I have started working on sprites for an avengers 8 bit style mod. I am an openbor noob and am very exited about all the great stuff openbor offers. If any openbor veterans are interested in partnering up or helping i would be grateful.

So, who do I get for my first sprite sheet? (I'm assuming Black Widow, considering she's not on the teaser image)
 
Sure! I am not really sure how many characters should be playable yet. But if you want to add black Widow or anyone else that is cool. So many options to consider such as winter soldier or war machine and vision. Whatever you think we can handle i'm game.

I've really wanted to see Squirrel Girl playable in a game sometime, and MFA2 has failed to meet that request. I wonder what could work for a base for her?

Could this be a good base for Rocket Raccoon?

That could work for rocket and i was thinking the same thing about venom. I also have been working on chitauri sprites as enemies for a level.

Creating a master palette that will be used for all sprites can help with NES style mods.  You can start with the original NES palette and expand on it for more shades/colours,  or use it as reference if you want sprites/backgrounds to match the original.

Thats a great idea bestie, but instead of the nes palette i think i am going to use the sega master system palette because it seems to have more color options.

Cool, also you could use it as a base and substitute each entry with your own colors, so it would look a hacked ROM with a custom palette. 

If you want the original palette it's really good to work from a master palette of that system like this and force all sprites to use the correct colors.  I've just noticed when working with sprites before and getting them from sprite sheets/ripping from emulators, the colors might not always exactly match the original game.  It really makes a difference when you match everything to the original master palette.

I don't want to get in over my head and add too many characters, this is my first ever project but who knows how many characters will end up in this mod. My original goal was to based mostly off the Marvel Movie universe but more characters add to the replay value. BTW here is a winter soldier Cap, Bucky, and also Daredevil, chitauri and hulk buster work in progress.

That 8 bit intro and theme is just awesome. I actually plan to use many 8 bit themes of marvel movies and shows in game As long as i give credit . I also want the sounds and voices to appear in game similar mersox power rangers mod.
