Hello, I just solved something I couldn't previously figure out, so I want to share it with the community here. First, my thanks to everyone responsible for making the engine and the games! What you have done goes WAY beyond amazing.
Ok, the thing is this... I ran out of space on my phone's internal storage, but I have a 64 gb micro-SD card in there too. So, I started thinking about the old DOS append command. Anyone remember the append command? It was better than mounting an image. You could set a directory on your hard drive to any drive you desired. So, I could override my computer's ability to read the floppy drive or another one with the folder of my choice. So, it got me thinking... what if an app could append one folder to another folder?
I found a free app on the google playstore called FolderMount. With this app, I can fool my phone into thinking the OpenBOR folder on the internal storage is actually the one of the external. In other words, it reads and writes the folder on the SD card instead of the one on the phone's internal memory. So, if you would like to load PAK files from SD card so you can have a lot more of them, read on. Here is the exact procedure I used to get this to work:
1) Run OpenBOR one time to create the necessary folder structure on internal memory.
2) Copy OpenBOR folder from internal memory to SD card.
3) Copy all the PAK files you want to the OpenBOR/Paks folder on the SD card.
4) Run FolderMount.
5) Put OpenBOR in the name field.
6) For the source line, put in the OpenBOR folder from the internal storage.
7) For the destination line, put in the OpenBOR folder from the SD card.
8) Flip the switch next to the word OpenBOR.
That's it! Now your phone will see all the files from the OpenBOR folder on the SD card when it tries to access the same folder on the internal storage. I used this method on a Samsung Galaxy S4, and it worked perfectly. I hope this post can help someone out there, because I love having a ton of BOR games on my phone.
