Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to share a project I have been working on for the past three years. The project is call Alpha Flight Legends. This is my very first project. I was inspired by all the amazing projects that were posted to this forum. I have to first thank all the developers that have posted and shared their work. I have to specifically thank Zvitor for providing the template on how I wanted my game to look like. I also want to thank Damon for maintaining this forum and having it available for anyone that is interested in Open BOR. I want to point out that this journey has been the toughest but most rewarding experience of my life. Here is a little background about me. I am a big time comic collector. Mostly Marvel and Some DC comics. I love the characters and all the stories sounding these two comic juggernauts. I have some programing skills and very little to no art skills. When I first saw the Justice League game by Zvitor I was completely shocked that there were these fan created games out there. I thought this would be the perfect opportunity for creating games of character that were not as popular as the Avengers and Justice League. Back in 2019 I was determined to create my own game. I had to first figure out a story or team to base my game on. I ultimately decided to create a game based on the Mavel Alpha Flight super heroes team. I bought every comic book from their volume 1 run from Ebay. I wanted the game to be based on some of Alpha Flights most memorable adventures. I then downloaded the template that Bloodbane put together as the base for my game. The hardest and most challenging part of this project was spriting. I do not have an eye for creating art. I am extremely terrible at doing it.
The games right now has thirteen levels that are based off the volume 1 series. I included 13 playable characters. The levels are organized in Chronological order ranging from when the team was first formed and the last battle they faced as team when the volume 1 series came to an end. All 13 levels have been completed. Right now I am working to clean up elements that I do not like and need to be updated. I am hoping there are experienced developers out there that would be able to help me finish this project. I am hoping to find some game testers out there that can play my game and let me know what areas I would need to improve before releasing the game. Right now I have been using my kids to test the game and provide me with feedback. Not sure How much I can expect from a 10 and 8 year old. I am including a couple of links to highlight some of the playable characters I used within my game. I can't tell you how much I have appreciated this forum and all the help I received from so many developers. This experience has help me through the most challenging period of my life. Words can not explain how much this process has meant to me. Here are some links to videos I created from the game. Please let me know what you think of my project. Please don't be too harsh. I am still learning and am hoping I can channel your comments into improvement to my game. Thank you again,
Max
