About BOR history

Hi all,

New guy here, I've heard of BOR since its inception but I never really "Got" to it till know (real life suckstm). So having found this place just yesterday I saw that while the forums are...fairly new, the people here aren't!

So here are my questions: How did this place come about, where did it stem from? What is Lavalit, what happened to it? Did something get lost during the transition from there to here? 

I"m just curious is all and thought it'd be nice to have a general idea instead of assuming what happened from a random post here and there. It also should help my fellow noobs get a "snapshot" of the ups and downs of this place, and to identify and "belong" a lot quicker to Chrono Crash!

My only request - please keep the snark low. Comments like "The less you know the better", "it was crap. end of story." etc. is best saved for 4chan where humanity and friendly discussion is almost non-existant.

Alright! Old Timers of the BOR project, come out and enthrall us with your tales!

P.S. Mods, let me know if this was the wrong section and where it should go - I'll repost accordingly. I chose this section  since I'm more partial about learning about OpenBOR/BOR and the history behind its forums.

Sorry, but it's pretty darn clear you haven't really read through the forums at all, else-wise you would know two things:

First, my comment above and the following are about as snarky as it gets around here: When it comes to filtering out riff-raff, I run the tightest ship in the business, and as a result you will find this is one of the most friendly/professional communities in existence. Chastising nonexistent behaviors of our members in one of your very first posts is not the quickest way to gain favor.

Second, there are at least three threads concerning the history of Lavalit and why Chronocrash replaced it; one in particular was started specifically just to do so. A mere cursory search would have led you there.

I'm glad to see new members and we welcome you with open arms - but it would do you well to have a look around before making assumptions and starting new threads on topics already answered or under discussion.
