Windows 10 upgrade?

I did, but since I've come from Win 7 (specifically Win 7 Pro), I couldn't say much about the Win 8 problems.

So far so good though, it's just the same thing albeit fancy features and new coat of paint. Like that they put the old school Windows stuff back like the start menu. I hope this would be worth the price of admission in the long run.

For activation, I haven't gotten to problems with it so far. I just updated everything until the Windows 10 update is downloaded. When it did finish (which was midnight, I just installed it just now) I just confirmed the update and it just updated.

The comp is actually a work comp that the company gave to me after they shut down as a token of service. I think this is OEM maybe, so it didn't have any problems on me.

I'm actually kind of worried that the internet would get interrupted and corrupt the updates, since AFAIK, internet's getting buggy because of the Win 10 updates.

Checked the file that the reddit mentioned, I'm admin and the file is not there, the folder is though.

But if it's there, it's there. Nothing hurts if you try ... As long as you're careful though, it's your computer after all.

Thanks guys. I think I'll stick with 8.1 for now. At least until I'm sure I can replace that awful FreshPaint program, with the VistaPaint one again.

Hey bro, Good old vista paint is my favorite one to use. It's right to the point, and simple. I didn't really like paint.net much. Too many bells and whistles.

lol you should never get windows when it first launches it littered with bugs and crap.  When windows 7 and 8 came out it took days to make games and stuff backwords compatible. lol

Seems to work fine on my comp:
AORtEm

Yeah, same as Sammy, the new builds of OpenBOR still work on Windows 10. Dunno if the tools (for compiling OpenBOR from source) still work.

It's been almost a month since 10 was released, there wasn't any noticeable problems so far. Some annoyances though, but otherwise not that prominent.

It really just depend on your taste actually if you want to upgrade your machine to another OS. I remember when iOS 7 came out and I want to upgrade my 2nd Gen iPad and my dad doesn't allow me, stating that if in the future that the second gen would be obsolete, at least I preserved everything that's in it including the OS. After he died, I still didn't upgrade my iPad, because aside from preserving the contents, I couldn't risk updating it with the problems and all.

For the Windows comp though, I didn't mind upgrading as my comp is good enough to run it (plus the fact that I'm using 7 Pro and it would upgrade to 10 Pro also gave me a plus).

So again, your choice if you want to upgrade or not, preserve your comp as well as your OS, or risk everything and upgrade (unless you know and understand the risks that come with it)

Hey guy. I'm having problem now with this. My capacity for my laptop is almost full and I want to remove unnecessary stuff from it but I dunno how. I dunno if this icon is Windows 10 or something, but I was advised not to install it. I never accept it, but Windows 10 keeps bugging me and it likes to eat up spaces.

What icon? If what you mean is in the pic with the windows logo on it, that's the drive where windows is installed.

Did you try sorting out your stuff to be trashed and not? if you didn't you should go ahead and do it. If you got an external or anotehr drive there, suggest putting documents on another drive instead of C. C should be meant for programs and not to place documents on, for me at least..

Note that it will take up a huge amount of space mainly 3 GB, but most of the files is already present in win 7/8 already. that's why it's not as bulky as it is, but yeah, 3GB is its required free space.
