My vote goes to the PS1. As much as the PS2 became legendary and a landmark in video game history, I give this vote to the PS1 because it simply managed to debut in the industry while defeating the biggest players in the market at the time—even defeating a 64-bit system that was more powerful than it in many ways.
At the time, several companies were trying to launch new consoles (NEC FX, Amiga, even Bandai), and I thought the PS1 would be a good competitor, but I never imagined what it would be. Even when I first saw the PS1 controller, I thought it was overkill to have four shoulder buttons
