SNES [Patch] May 2026

TURRICAN 1.5
The Avalon 1 has fallen under attack. Robots malfunction, mutants outsmart you, and some even steal advanced armor to turn themselves into deadly bosses. As Bren McGuire-still without the iconic Turrican suit-you fight through collapsing decks, chaotic corridors, and jetpack arenas using a built-in four-mode weapon system. Survive the invasion from inside the ship and reach the exact moment where Turrican 2 begins.

Good start; so, you'll be using these graphics via a ROM hack of the original Turrican game?
Is there an editor that allows you to modify the level and enemy structure?

Thanks! Yes, I’m working on a ROM hack based on the SNES version. As for tools, there isn’t a dedicated editor for Turrican that lets you directly modify levels and enemy structures. I’m using a mix of general SNES tools, graphic editing, and manual hex modifications to handle structure and behavior. It’s a bit of a handcrafted process, but it’s letting me achieve the results I’m aiming for.

I deconstructed Super Mario World through reverse engineering, thoroughly analyzing its systems and internal structure. After a year of work, I developed a fully custom, handcrafted engine, turning it into a sort of personal sandbox where I can experiment and build completely new experiences from scratch. In this way, a timeless classic becomes not just an homage, but a creative starting point for original and entirely new games.

Of course, despite all the modifications and expansion possibilities, there are still technical and structural limits tied to the original engine — but working within those constraints is exactly what makes it exciting for me. It pushes me to invent new solutions and turn limitations into creativity.

As I've said to you previously could you please not use third parties for images like YouTube and Imgur as those websites do not work in every country and your content is not viewable.

Unfortunately, I don’t have any other way to share updates without using external platforms. I’d rather stop posting anything.

Yes. You do.

That's just one of several ways to post images to our host:
  • Attach and insert as full or thumbnail.
  • Drag + Drop images right into the post.
  • Copy + Paste into the post.
I pay good money for premium hosting and forum software specifically so we don't have to put up with third party crap.
