Questions about OpenBOR engine

Hey,

I'm trying in the middle of programming a game alot like those made with OpenBOR in Unity3D, and I have some questions about how some things are handled.

The engine fully 2D, or does it use 2D elements? How are things like jumping handled? How do you guys handle collision detection?

I'm just lookign for advice on how to implement some things in my own game  in Unity. I appreciate any and all answers, and thanks in advance.
