My question is: does it hurt your eyes? if yes, I'll reduce the brightness (at least the white part)
Not for me at least. You can try to either:
- add a transition tone between the yellow and pure white
- or change the full white to something yellow-ish
- or add some dithering if you don't want to add more color tones
I made some tests for you:
Just adding a transition tone between yellow and white
Changing the white to a bright yellow
And my favorite: changing the white to bright yellow only the big areas (frames 2 and 3), and keeping the white on the other 2 frames.
This makes the inner part of the sprite to "pulse" - its a common trick used a lot in game dev
You can even make the pulse more stronger just by resizing or moving the colors placement (another old trick)
Look at the first frame:
Before
After
Another question, which one is better :
B. The option A can really triggers seizure in some people, way more than the white part of the first effect.
