Hey guys i got this old school pc windows 98 game that is 2d.  How hard would it be to rip sprites from a game like this?  Is there a program that can do it?

I agree but the background has a lot of color loss from the first background he had that is why i told him to do it that way :) But listen to blood he knows a lot more thann i do lol And DC is right remember to avoid using anti-alias, gradients or too many colors for your sprites and backgrounds.

The struggle is real.. So every character will have their own custome hitsparks.  I came up with one for tux mask which is an exploding rose basically but i need 3 more if you guys know of anything that might suit him please post :P

They dont have to be as small as sor you can make them marvel vs capcom sized which is a lot larger..  Looks great.

Sprites look nice however i think there needs to be more frames to the walking animation :P

Cool just make sure that all the character sprites share the same pal that will be important and that the top first color of the pal is the background color of the character.

That can all work just make sure that each sprite shares the same pal if you want him to have pals in your game.  Also make sure that the pal is only 256 colors.
