Streets of Rage Custom Sprites

Streets of Rage Custom Sprites 1.0

No permission to download
Good day, dear friends. You will probably have questions like:
"How are things going with your works now?", and to be honest, they are not going very well,
since some events in life such as: the end of a relationship (friendly, then love), then a few days pass and on July 31 a cat named Farhad dies.

I tried to continue working despite all these events, but the effect after these events turned out to be stronger than me, in other words, I burned out.
I burned out on my favorite game, and I burned out on my favorite business.
And most likely I will hardly try to continue anything, since I simply can't do anything anymore.

In any case, I hope that people will post their works here. Well, if you want to edit something from my works, do with them whatever you want

Now I will publish only small pieces of what I wanted to do, create, remake:

For Kim Doo-Han, I wanted to take some cues from Anger Of Stick (in this case, from Part 4)

Antonio SOR 1, or to be more precise I wanted to increase it to the size of the BKM version, well, and then it is already visible
View attachment 8991

I also wanted to redesign Jonathan, but in the end I didn't come up with anything.

I also wanted to try to create a sprite sheet of this Adam based on just one frame.

Creating Your Own Female Character
Take a break and don't push yourself Mr. Hunter. Sorry I don't contribute to this thread anymore. My life is work, work and work since I moved here. Even tried to get back at making sprite edits but too damn tired and fall asleep in front of my notebook. I hope all is well for you Mr. Hunter.

How could u create this adam ?

Accept a new punch in the grab for Adam BKM, this will be instead of a headbutt.
His reference is from the same AOS 4 (Anger Of Stick 4)

How could u create this adam ?
I've already managed to forget about this Adam. I created him from different parts of SORR versions of characters (at least as far as I remember, I created the upper part using SORR Adam and Axel). And honestly, if you look at him now, he turned out to be very ambiguous, if I ever touch him, I will completely remake him

The idea for this picture has been in my head for several years. And then yesterday I tried to implement it as a conceptual fake screen, but as I worked I began to see more and more inconsistencies, which ultimately led to this result.

I tried to use the materials from BKM as much as possible, plus a repainted background from Robocop

Dude, that SOR 1 Axel is goated! You gotta do a full spritesheet of that version in the future.

Hey @Mr.Hunter I wanted to message you to ask something. You know those SOR 2 Style SOR 1 Axel sprites you made? Is it okay if I use them for a SOR 4 Mod? I was curious because I previously worked on an SOR 4 Mod giving SOR 1 Adam his BKM Sprites a while ago, same for SOR 2 Axel with his BKM Sprites. I'm curious how these sprites would look in the game. And I wanna give you credit ofc since they're your sprite work and you did a fantastic job with them. I love how they look and I'm not that kind of guy to release something without permission. So, if it's okay with you lmk. And I also hope you're doing okay as well, keep up the great work man.

If you ask how I'm doing, then:

Everything is as usual, I still don't leave the house, plus mood swings (but for me this is already commonplace). Well, if you ask about my work, then it's a little difficult, since lately I haven't really touched the editor (because of which, accordingly, I almost don't publish posts). And at the same time, I've already completely forgotten about Streets Of Rage since I started playing Counter Strike Source.

Because of which one fine evening I had a small idea to try to draw the SEAL Team 6 operative (true from CS Condition Zero, but oh well)

It looks like I won't be returning to it anytime soon, but I'll try to start working further to finish at least Axel SOR 1

So, if it's okay with you lmk. And I also hope you're doing okay as well, keep up the great work man.
I don't mind, especially since I once thought about trying to put it there instead of the usual Axel SOR 2

Okay, ngl this looks bad ass and I understand. I hope things go well man. God Bless, and thanks for the response.

Hey @Mr.Hunter Rq, I'm working on the BKM SOR 1/2 Axel stuff. I was adding in the sprites and 3 of them are missing from some moves. I know you can fix em better than me lol. I'm sending it here so send it to me when you can. I hope you and the others here are doing okay.

I made these fan arts to expand the SOR sprite library, hoping that different creators will use these sprites to create varied animations (the GIFs I made are just references for animation pacing).
So, these fan-art sprites I made can be freely used in projects, shared, or modified by anyone.

No inspiration.

R Bear:
I think this heavy boxer is not the type to follow boxing ring rules, to emphasize his danger level, I added moves that aren’t allowed in boxing matches, like elbow strikes and kicks. I also made defensive moves, uppercuts, reverse attacks, and light jump attacks... Some of the sprite assets can be reused, like the three images with the green background, they only differ in the middle frame, they actually share the same starting and ending motions as well as the animation timing.
So feel free to mix, match, or modify original and new sprites to create attack animations that are entirely different from what you want.

face_sketched from a realistic-style AI video.jpgface_64x64.png
This pixel portrait, sketched from a realistic-style AI video—this portrait looks too realistic, I can’t capture the original game SOR 2’s screen style, and the dimensions don’t match SOR3's 48x48 either, so there’s really nowhere to use this portrait. I recommend SOR's fans check out this video, it has a cinematic feel and showcases a realistic version of SOR1, 2, 3, and 4.

Abadede:

Sega Genesis 32X - Streets of Rage 2 - boss 4 - Abadede - 改.png

背阔肌顶人.gif I removed the shadows that came with the wrestler's sprite sheet, and fixed a few issues. Then I made a throw animation with these sprites, similar to Clark Still's Super Argentine Backbreaker, KOF.

Mr. X:

Boss 8-2 - Mr X - 改,扫射.gifBoss 8-2 - Mr X - 改,向上射击.gifAdded sprites for shooting upward and shooting overhead.
Boss 8-2 - Mr X - 改,飞吻.gifWhile examining the sprite sheet, I noticed that the whistling animation, with a slight rearrangement of frames, looks just like blowing a kiss—haha!

Post moved to custom streets of rage sprite thread.
This thread has many interesting ideas!
I was thinking, wouldn’t it be a pity if someone created sprite art for a while only to find out that what they made had already been done by someone else? Is there a way, maybe like a shared cloud drive, to directly showcase the latest uploaded versions of everyone’s edits in a complete display?

I believe his fighting style is dirty boxing, while I agree and love what you did for him using his elbow but for him using a kick it's too much for me.
This is my rough draft or at least what was planned for him. Excuse the blurry gifs, because almost all my works is unfinished and still in rough shape and it's been long time ago that I made these edits.

Running inspired from Balrog

Defensive Special inspired from Cula (Tough Guy). I know it's weird choice of inspiration, but hey it works for me.

Rage move inspired from DeeJay (Street Fighter). Flurry punch and finished with his uppercut.

These are all interesting, but maybe just a little off the rails much. I like to look at designer intent. R-Bear is actually one of the more complete enemies. He's not quite on the player's level, but he's right up there with Shiva and Abadade for for just missing a few things.

He already has a defensive special,

1731260620987.png

...a running attack ("blitz" in SOR2),

1731260684955.png

...a back attack that he uses if you hold him from behind too long,

1731260727828.png

...even a finisher for his grapple strikes combo.

1731260823644.png

It's just my opinion, but if this is seriously meant for use in projects, then why not build off those fundamentals a little more before giving him moves the designers clearly never intended or "adding" things he already has?

The running animation is fantastic! Did you intentionally make his body have no vertical bounce? I think it makes him look very imposing, as if he's stomping with a "thud, thud, thud" rhythm.
The Defensive Special looks quite flashy—while I personally prefer simpler moves, this is really a great animation. For this one, I think you could adjust the character's height a bit; he suddenly grows in frames 2 and 3, and the transition between frames 8, 9, and 10 isn’t quite smooth, making it look like the character jolts a bit (I’d suggest raising the head slightly in frame 9).
DeeJay’s punch has many hits and feels very quick, which doesn’t quite match a heavy fighter. Your draft has a very powerful stance, so I’d lean towards removing DJ’s unique style here and going for a powerful uppercut.

Yes, he already has a lot of animations in his sprite sheet. Initially, I planned to create a new, more powerful back attack for him, but as I worked on it, more and more ideas came up, and I wanted to add some variety to his moves.
