PS: I'm not including any series after series X because I don't even consider them to be part of the Mega Man universe  :)
 
I voted X, but maybe include an “other” option for the series you don’t even consider part of the Mega man universe (I’d hate to see what you’d think of the ACTUALLY bad series like Fully Charged...)

I don't think I should voice my opinion about the pool, but I also don't like the X series too much...
 
I prefer the Mega Man X series. Maybe because I started with it. But probably because I loved it! By instance I enjoyed creating new bosses (you don't know Rocket Vulture! :D). All the elements are more or less awesome: graphics, music, level design, FX and scenario. Beside that, I like the Mega Man of SNES and Saturn but less.

I would also recommend Network Transmission as a gateway into the Battle Network games, as it plays a lot more like a normal Megaman game than the rest.
