OpenBOR for Nintendo Switch

I seem to have a keen interest in having OpenBOR ported to Nintendo Switch, though I don't own it currently. Even though I'm not a Nintendo person, I would like to see it in Switch because (primarily) of the capabilities of switching from one form playing like a handheld to playing with 2 players using mini controls (separated). Any thoughts about it?

Yeah. I wish there was. But how would it get an official support for it? Wouldn't there be any active developer who have interest in Switch especially here? I'm just curious. That's all.

Official support demands time and man power (in other words, someone to update it). Two things we don't have at the moment.
When we add an official platform, its not just porting - that is the easy part. To give support, to fix bugs that may appear only on that platform and to continually offer support to it is the harderst part.

They had ported a very old build, so a lot of things can go wrong. Specially when trying to be back backward compatible.

I should had worded it differently. Instead of "we won't support it officially here", I should said "I don't see it happening", because its not me who call the shots here. The final words about which port will or will not be supported is given by Damon Caskey .

And why I say taht? Because we can't simply port the engine to a platform and stop to offer support for it out of the blue. If the coder who is working on that platform vanishes, we will have a burden to carry on our shoulders.

Plus, even Swtich being pretty cool, Nintendo isn't (its the polar opposite in fact). And since you need to hack the Switch to be able to run OpenBOR on it, we could have problems with Nintendo.

Theoretically, couldn't we get OpenBOR as an official app on the Switch store? RPGMaker MV has a free app, which allows people to run those games on their Switch natively. And I'm not talking about homebrew for hacked consoles, I mean it's a licensed app on the eShop (only in Japan, mind you, but still).

I don't think it's a good idea at all to bring Nintendo attention to us, really.

Plus, you need to pay a fee to publish something and Nintendo is money hungry.

This. Nintendo vigorously defends their IP and technology. They can't touch OpenBOR itself, but if they catch wind of this forum about half the community will get served with C&Ds.

Hey guys, wasn't sure where I could post/ask about this issue so I'll try here. The Switch version of OpenBor by Cpasjuste is not working anymore. I think it just needs to be recompiled. I tried to do it myself but could not get it working. Since CFW 9.0 was released it broke the controller inputs on older homebrew. If anyone can fix this problem or has a way to message Cpasjuste maybe we can get OpenBor working again on CFW for the Switch. The NS CFW community and myself would be very grateful.

This is the third time I reply about the same subject today, but here we go:
Nintendo Switch version of OpenBOR is not an official port neither made by us, so we can't offer any support for it, sorry.
It would be better to ask directly to who had made that port.

Sorry bumpouz, but like O Ilusionista said, we didn't have anything at all to do with that port. I couldn't tell you the first thing about it. This is why I used to keep the source private - to specifically prevent guys from running off and making random ports we can't support and causing confusion. I wish I could offer you more, but the best thing to do is contact the guy who made it.
