Denjin Makai 2 probably has the best combat system or implementation of one for that matter of the 90s but it's even better to see the people can do with Openbor like what we have here.
Aside from the custom moves the gameplay is spot on to the source material but I'm looking forward to seeing how much it change.

This game is very classic, the original version in the arcade is already perfect (except the characters have no voices)
I think it’s a bit difficult for the bor version to surpass the arcade version 🙂

Fortunately this isn't a remake and it's safe to assume this is it's own thing and Sorx showed us that Openbor can surpass the arcade version.
So I want to see if the game live up to the people making it expectations.
 
The restoration is very good, but the throwing action is a bit inconsistent and a bit light.
That can be easily fixed by decreasing the delay amount.
Check the example below
Heres a video of a throw from FHR base game.
In this video I played around with the delay amount to get it to a suitable consistency which can make or break a game.

It's cool that we can go back and fix things if its abit off and we didn't catch it the first time.

This looks more badass than the first version of the boss fight except Matlock's character has more moves than in the original Neon Lightning Force and the boss arena is not in a cramped alleyway.
 
Well, what I'm trying to do is something a bit different from the original Denjin Makai games, the vid post by DCurrent isn't the restoration is the old version from 2016, but here I come with another new vid, the redesing of the first boss battle:

In addition, the protagonist's MP box in the upper left corner is blocked, so it just needs to be adjusted a little.
 
@jeremiah.cuff: Yeah everything has been updated doing little changes on the stages or the story. I wasn't satisfied with the game at all and now that I know better the OpenBOR engine, I can create the Neon Lightning Force version I had in mind from the beginning.

@William999: Yes, now that I changed the font of the game the MP bar can't be seen if it's low, here a small update in the HUD position:

Well said Crimson Death, you're got that momentum going strong for remaking this project. I was also thinking if you and I can one day help each other with my Tides Before The Tragedy prequel I made five years ago, I wanted to go back to working on but I have too much on plate with starting other OpenBOR projects like Basara Frontier or Mad Gear Stories: Final Fight.

One thing I can't wrap my head around yet but love to see is animated backgrounds and different ways enemies spawn into the game.
Those 2 in the boat are great examples of this.
Seeing a combo meter is a instant 5star from me.

I'm pretty busy with my own new games too x.x (Crimson Force, my new proyect is still hiatus is an RPG Final Fantasy style, I'm a bit stuck writing the plot x.x) but with the new material I'm brining to Neon Lightning Force (the enemy spawns animations, new weapons, new NPCs, animated backgrounds, etc) I'm pretty sure is enough to create new and fun stages. You can use my mod as a base instead creating a new one, just add the characters of your mod in my game and fix the issues I pointed out in the review I gave to your mod. I recommend you to work on your projects first (maybe I'll be free when you finish them :D ).

It take a lot of time create a good game (I could be asking for help again x.x), I don't think I can finish this project on April of this year but I can release a demo of 1.5 version on that date.

I appreciate you offering a demo of your fan game for me to redo Tides Before The Tragedy Crimsondeath, I know i had a lot of bugs in my project while putting it together. But now after learning the OpenBOR engine after 7 years, I can make the time and effort to at least try to make a decent fan game like I did with Knights of the Round Annihilation and Real Bout Pro Wrestling.

And I hope you fare well with the Final Fantasy RPG style fan game if you ever go back to making the OpenBOR project CrimsonDeath. Because I look forward to play it real soon. 😉

That would be awesome Crimsondeath, take your time with this new edition of your project. I'm almost done with making the Xtreme Legends expansion of Knights of the Round Revenge and plan on making the game's trailer video afterwards. I'll be sure to keep you posted until then.
