:)Yes I know another DD mod but before you shun this project give it a try first which will be soon, not anytime soon but soon. let me explain why I choose this project, I was playing DD3 on my sega genesis as I was playing something pop in my head. This game control is terrible and the hit detection stinks, this is my impression I get, so why not improve on it and make it better? And so I did just that;)

I'm using the original Beat Of Rage game as a base for this mod and to keep it simple and clean.
There is nothing more to say other then just wait a bit and thank you for taking a look peace!

Aaah, so how the movement system in your mod be? will it use default combo or use just punches and kicks

it looking good. you shoudl put comparisos shots for see easily the differences.


the original game, saddly, was decent graphics but a very bad moves! and animation of these moves aswell. :P

also, it was the firt game that comes with micropayment, as todya, for everythign on the shop. :P


good luck with this. if you could replace those horror moves to better ones, the 50% of the remake is done. ;)

but sure, add enemies playable etc, will make it much better than the original.

i tried miserabbly to play as the enemies on double dragon 3, but i fail.cause the game dont allow you very well tomplay as enemy characters.

is not like on double dragon 1 and 2, where i could sucessfully make the enemies playable. and even save marian of being shoot on the double dragon 2 intro.

im not a programmer, just one pro action replay cheat codes finder. with some luck and years trying to do this rare things. hehe

one question i have guys...

could be possible create one shooter using openbor?
cause i would love play a remake of prehistoric isle in 1930. :)
just imagine the possbilities.. with newer planes selectable, play as dinos, alternate ending and levels, etc.  i know is a brawler engine, but... who knows..?

(btw, look on my channel how i change the preisle ending there... hehehe!)

I will be using the default combo system, mainly 3 buttons punch, jump & escape move. The sprites are from the Genesis the background are from the arcade a weird combination but it doesn't look too bad.

The game really come together when use can really hit someone every time you throw a punch very satisfying feel. :)

The story is mainly about Billy & Jimmy like the nes with 1 secret character or I might as well add the those other silly chars in the game that is playable too, I can't decide yet but if you want them... sure no problem. ;)

If you're asking. It could be nice to have a big guy (power type) and a female (fast type) as unlockable characters...
Just a suggestion.

Oh yes, will you be editing the background? it would be nice to see edited background for variation :)

I will probably have all the characters for the game with 1 exception Ranzou is not gonna be a playable character instead I have a substitute for him which is the secret char, you will have a fun time playing him. ;)

As for backgrounds variation they remain the same for now, maybe when I go through my level testing process again an idea might pop up. But for now they will remain unchanged thanks. :)
 
This looks interesting, but not having played the SEGA Megadrive version, I have no idea what DD3 was like.

The NES version (I has this) was challenging, but beat-a-ble (and there were no hit detection issues that I remember).
 
I personally played very little Double Dragon 3, but you have a large universe of characters and enemies, considering all double dragon, good luck on your project. :D
 
Thank you guys! :)

Here is a small update! I updated the weapon animation ripping it from the arcade which looks and play better now. Also it is drawing closer to completion, I need to make final adjustments to the spawning of enemies, refinements, final touches & a new ending of my own. So what I am saying is you get 2 endings in a branch path.

One last thing my secret character is scraped I need to find a better match to fit in  mod, if anyone of you can help be my guest!  ;)
