Crazy Idea... Beat Em Up Survivor Hybrid

Ive been trying a weird idea
Survivor style auto attack (coming from the Fairy next to the character)
Meanwhile you fight as usual in a beat em up (can change classes mid fight, thats kinda my thing)

Maybe its too messy lol

Im thinking while you play the stages, you get the usual PICK YOUR POWERUP thing, and you have Fairy powerup options as well as Player powerup options

The idea is kinda like...if you can't handle the beat em up action, just focus on leveling up the fairy and surviving (cause a lot of my players arent really good at action games)

due to recent trends (vampire survivors), i think this could be well received....

the way i see - this is like having a special attack, and you just skipped having the player do the button combo to activate it...

too grindy for my taste... but it is possible to have balance...

when i used to beat the n64 zelda games, at firs run i always went for the bare minimum health and power, and if i ever played skyrim or fallout, i would go for the same approach if possible - i have no patience for leveling up unless absolutely necessary,
if a game has you killing waves and waves of grinder meat just so you can beat a boss, it kind of get old fast for me...

it is a nice option (atomatic special or manual specias after grinding) to have tho, since low skill players, given enough time and patience , can kill the boss eventually if they survive enough -

your automatic approach does take away something that in theory players should figure out on their own tho....

but after seeing first hand that players dont take advantage of the MP bar features and the waves of grunts.... (something i disagree with, but cant code options for the choice)
i say go for automatic, but try and give the fairy as much variety of attacks as you can, make them random (hey, if you want to get grindy you dont get to choose), and have those attacks with different levels of damage

I think this could work @Aerisetta . Maybe not my personal cup of tea but I but it would appear to a lot of folks getting burned out with the genre.

IMO beat em' ups are getting run into the ground hard and fast right now. Won't be too long before it's a niche again.
