Nice work! I do feel like the X-series game should be a separate thing, but perhaps have some of the characters also in the sequel game. And making the characters fit together more in terms of shading would be a good idea to keep in mind. But what I meant about bosses was to make them smarter, rather than make players hit less hard. Anyway, Sonic’s GBA Sprite more properly reflects his height in comparison to the rest of the cast.

I got it, but it would make me develop a more complicated AI routine - something I love to do, but I have no time for now (and its kinda time consuming).

There is something funny about me: I tend to just reconize the original series of something, and despite the rest. For example, GBA is not sonic to me - at all. Sonic is the Mega Drive one to me. Same for TMNT. And, just for the record, GBA sprites is too small for the sequel and too big for the prequel anyway.

What do you use to do the black border/outlines on sprites ? stroke on photoshop ? then magic wand to remove antialaising and return to pixel perfect lines ? It does help make them feel like they fit more.

Phostop Stroke + blend layers + paint the antialias pixles with the background color.

Funny you should mention that; GBA Sonic and MD Sonic are apparently considered separate characters now. And yeah, going with 3’s Sonic sounds like a good option, as he looks more detailed and aggressive than Mania Sonic. For Freedom Planet, are the FP1 sprites okay?

Also, are Shantae’s Pirate’s Curse sprites fine or would she need to be redrawn more realistically? Another suggestion I have is to bring over Captain Commando from Capcom Classics Clash, who looks like he can be easily adapted to the style. Still looking for a good base for Komaru Naegi, by the way.

Yeah, Shantae will need to be redrawn. Does Kirin (Cannon Dancer) sound like a good base for her legs?

Since discussions can now point towards downloadable modules it was pointless leaving a single post in the modules section pointing towards the gamejolt page, merged both topics and reassigned both discussion and download in resource.

 
@Miru Nice name, but I want to focus on the Chakan name, so it will be something related to him :)

Also, I remaking Eric Lecarde, because there a lot of errors there. MDI was a cool guy, but had not much experience, so there are many mistakes on that char (and on the others he made), with no offense.

Would Reimu Hakurei (using her Koumajou Densetsu sprites) work?

Would the SOR1 protagonists be the right size?
 
@Miru I've discovered Koumajou Densetsu few days ago, and I plan to make at least one boss from that game.
About a playable character, I don't want to bring too much characters of the same type and series. For example, we already have Ricther (whip) and Eric Lecarde (lance), but both uses different weapons and works differently.

I already have another Castlevania-type character done, from one of its mobile clone, but he at least uses a different weapon.

About SOR charcters, they are a big bigger but I could resize them. But dunno if they would work on the game, because they are mainly a melee character

My suggestion is to make Reimu truer to canon and remove her whip, making her a pure spell caster.

Also, I feel like with some editing to give them an outline, a character from One Step From Eden could work well in the game. As far as Streets of Rage is concerned, I think a boss from the game would be better; Mr. X for example.
 
@Miru For spell caster, Maria was on my plans (she attacks with her birds and magic).
Also, I plan to add Wizard from King of Dragons.

About the other game, is this one? The graphic doesn't fit

Yes, that one. I'm starting to wonder how much of her would need to be edited to fit the game's look more. And I feel like Mr. X could work with multiple phases, where you fight him normally and then he turns into the robot later. I forgot that in canon, Reimu uses a staff.

You don't know how long I wanted to play this lol!! Since the old version doesn't work on the current OS, it feels pretty good seeing this awesome game get an update man!!

Thank you for doing Superman justice, he actually feels like Superman lol!! Very fast and awesome power, I was surprised I beat the game with him on the first try lol!! And I damn sure looking forward to playing with the other characters man, Goliath is next lol!!

Any plans on adding any other characters, as I see above you have the final boss selectable!! Would like see TMNT...hell maybe Krang an boss lol, Lord Zedd...so many characters to think of lol!!!

@dafamily heheh thanks buddy. I wanted to make a true version of him. I still need to try to ballance him a bit, but yeah, he will be overpowered - as the original character is :)

I've recovered on an external drive a lost char I did back in 2006 - Baxter Stockman, from TMNT arcade game and I decided to add him as a new boss for the Battle Stormer Classic project :)
