When I first took a look at the screenshots I thought, "hmm, that's certainly a choice." Then it dawned on me, "ZOMG IT'S RIVER CITY RANSOM SPRITES!"
That drew me in. River City Ransom is one of my definitive games of the NES era. Though this has more in common with Double Dragon NES.
There are a few things I really want to see fixed:
- Gamepad controls are completely broken, which was a huge bummer for my arthritic hands. Please, please, please fix.
- ranged enemies being able to attack from off screen is absolute cheapness.
- I can't tell for sure but it seems like Harley and the Penguin can hit your from anywhere on the map.
Still, I had a blast. The RPG elements are great and give me the NES Double Dragon vibes. Give me moar!
The Penguin and Harley's shot is invisible because the speed of the bullet, it's was made with total purpose.
